Try doing the same thing in another browser; like IE7.
If the problem goes away, try updating Mozilla to a newer version.
If the problem remains, check for spyware and viruses like usual.
AdAware is a good free program for getting rid of spyware and annoying little programs running in the background.

AVG is a good free anti-virus program.
Good luck; hope that helps.

"hi-jacking" is the wrong term here, as there is no one at another computer, hi-jacking yours intentionally. You have malware, and it's very common. All of those music/porn/social sites will install very small programs on your computer, sometimes when the user downloads certain files like music and such. They download without you knowing, buy are very rarely mailicious. They are just there to to throw ads at you, display pop-ups, and otherwise mess with your experience, slowing down your computer. For the most part, they are very easy to get rid of.
You need to purchase a malware/spyware cleaner, or download a free one online. Free ones include Ad-Aware and AVG. You can always take your computer in to a shop and they'll do it for you.
After you download and install the cleaner, scan your computer, and delete those programs. The cleaner should tell you any suspecting programs. Then delete the cache, cookies, and history in your browser. Restart your computer and you should be good to go.

Sounds like a browser hijacker. The type of viruses that do this are called hijackers for obvious reasons.
Try a complete clean:

Good chance that will sort you out and if not, visit the Malware forum for personal help. And/or try Malwarebytes - there's a link in my profile for that. Malwarebytes is used as part of the process in the guide I gave you a link for.

You will need to update & run your anti-virus & anti-spyware programs to get rid of this web Browser Hijacker virus. If the programs that you have do not find and eliminate the virus, then give Spybot Search & Destroy a chance.
Download Spybot here.
