I can't believe that some people still believe that the unions are a good thing for the american people. The unions not only force every one to pay more for everything from cars to your groceries but they they force people who do not want to be in them join but pay for thier union boss salary and fancy vacations " oh I mean conferences". Every time a union decides to strike they say it is to help the people of thier union. Ask any American Axle employee or UPS employee if the unions strike helped them. When American Axle was on strike thousands of other union workers were laid off due to no part of thier own. Unions once were needed but there are so many laws to protect labor that the argument is moronac. Most of the American Axle employees are paying more for health insurance and are not sure when thier plants are closing. So much for security.

Do you mean competitive, as in paying slave wages, with little or no benefits to workers, without safety regs to protect workers, and without laws to protect the quality of the product all to make the highest profits?

I prefer valuing America, and her workers to make a strong country and economy. The unions have those same values, only some Repubs value money and power over people.

No. Our current health care system is. The most expensive part of every GM manufactured car is the health care paid to its workers.
