How long does it take for my water softener to run its cycle?
It normally does it itself around 2 in the morning, but tonight we pushed the manual reset button to make it do the cycle now.... Just wondering how long until it's done.
Thanks!
I think you aren't supposed to use the water while it's doing that... is that true??

It won't hurt it to use water, cycling just recharges the ionization rods inside the softner, amount of time to cycle depends on brand and model. Anywhere from 2-4 hours

2 hours and 10 minutes is what it takes for a water softener to regenerate.
You can use water in the house when softener is regenerating but, you will be using hard water.

As soon as it regenerates itself OR until you force a regeneration. Since I don't know anything about which unit you have I can't tell you how to force a regeneration, but I'd suggest when you figure that part out regenerate it tonight when you go to bed. That way you don't fill your entire plumbing system with salt water, you won't like it. That's why they are set to regenerate during the wee hours when everyone is asleep. Hope this helps. It must go through a regeneration cycle to get soft water again. Press the cycle button.
