James Taylor has a song that is about Carolina. It doesn't specify north or south.
My band wrote a song called leaving south Carolina. That recording hasn't been officially released.
The musical Porgy and Bess took place in Charleston. I'm sure there is something about South Carolina in that musical.
The 1920's had a song called Charleston and you did the charleston dance to it.
