NO NO NO ....we have been paying road tax for years and council tax.

and all sorts of other taxes on everything.... are you crazy to vote yes.

We should be getting all these benefits anyway...without further TAX

All this silly taxes.....now talk of further charges to empty bins.

They cant manage any sort of budget....just think of new ways to squeeze more money from us...

We already have paid enough for these extras that they promise.

How many times will we be charged for the same things.... then they use the money on other things.... Look at the road tax....where is all that revenue going?? not on roads im sure....its all a con

It makes sense to vote yes, Manchester will get £1.5 billion worth of investment from the government but only if they can raise another £1.5 billion from the congestion charge. If the vote results in a no then Manchester will not get the £1.5 billion from the government. With the slow down in the enconomy we should be jumping at the chance to take the investment. The £3 billion will double the size of the metrolink, provide school busses, more park and ride, better ticket machines and a smartcard system, better passenger display systems to get more up to date info to passengers, more trams, longer trams, more bike lanes, and a better traffic management system for motorists. If motorist pay the congestion charge they will get something for it. It will only be at peak time and it will depend on the direction of travel so cars wont pay if they travel out of manchester in the morning or in on the evenings. Furthermore the congestion charge will not be introduced unless these improvement occur.

Just read through the facts and vote which way you want. I've heard alot of people misunderstand the facts. on the metro yesterday people were saying they aren't voting yes because the trams take too long to come, but then in my opinion and the logical thing to do would be to vote yes because more trams mean more regular trams, I actually think most people haven't thought it through.
