Verizon Buying Alltel?

Since Verizon is buying Alltel will that mean the Alltel towers will give out Verizon services?

I live in a town where I'm not on the Verizon network so I can make calls and send texts but I can't go on V-Cast or switch phones, my cell phone is from when I lived in NYC and CA, and here I have to drive an hour to get on the network or upload things to my phone. Alltel has towers out here so will this merger mean I'll finally be on the Verizon network through Alltel?

As reported in the 'source,' Verizon will update Alltel's towers to allow V-Cast and such but it probably will not happen until about a year after the merger is finally done.

i imagine it really is nevertheless getting labored out yet I talked to a representative from alltel because i had to modify phones and he informed me that it possibly is only not till next year (2010) that we may be able to apply verizon phones. He also informed me that alltel is magnificent alltel and verizon is magnificent verizon. 2 separate operating organizations.

Usually when they buy each other out, then the buyer assumes control of the towers owned by the seller. Thats how Verizon grew into the big company they are, by buying out the little guys. At&t did the same. Here where I live they bought Cellular One. With that all Cell 1 customers became At&t customers and gained more access.
