Will requiring corrective lenses limit my opportunities in the military?

Is there anything I'd be absolutely restricted from? I don't have astigmatism, just a little nearsighted.

It'll pretty much disqualify you from pilot training, and perhaps the astronaut program.

There are pilots who wear glasses - but they typically have the glasses prescribed long after they're qualified as pilots.

Other than that, glasses aren't really an issue.

Say, Brenda, BCG's have vastly improved since my basic training days.. Buddy Holly horn-rimmed glasses.

You will never be a pilot, other than that everything is pretty much open. As an additional piece of advice, don't get LASIK, or any other correctional eye procedures, as they will permanently, medically disqualify you from the US Military.

Except For pilot training, probably not. If & when you enlist, take a copy of your prescription for lenses with you. The military will issue you glasses.

Mostly anything to do with being a pilot. Other than that it's wide open.

I believe it depends on your assigned duty weather you can perform them with your eye condition. Also I think they have Lasik surgery available to qualified candidates. But to make sure ask your army recruiter.
