Guitar Hero Game = Guitar Hero Software?

I'm thinking of buying Guitar Hero 2 Exp: Rocks The 80s ( ps2 ) for my brother for Christmas. He already has the guitar, so I only want to buy the actual game. But when a page says "Guitar Hero 2 Exp: Rocks The 80s Software", does that mean that it's the game? Or is it something else?

English is not my native language, and I don't know a lot about games and stuff, so if anybody would help me it would be great.

    Yes they mean the game itself.
