Has Tom Cruise lost you as a ticket-buyer?

In the past, I'll admit I enjoyed going to some of Tom Cruise's movies. Over the past several years, I have found myself shocked at his behavior and comments. Recently I read Andrew Morton's (excellent) biography about Cruise and was horrified to read about the beliefs of Scientology. Now there is no way I can see one of Tom Cruise's movies, despite being interested in Valkyrie. I know others are freaked out by Scientology, but wonder how this translates at the box office. If Morton's book is correct--and it is well-sourced--Tom Cruise is dangerous. I wonder if others will stay out of the theaters because he has been speaking openly about his "religion."

I don't really pick my films by actor, but now make a conscious effort to avoid Tom Cruise/ John Tavolta stuff because they support scientology.

They can believe what they like, but if they support a dangerous cult, they should expect people to be angry about it.

I have always like Tom as an actor and that won't change. I'm so sick of people acting like he killed someone. Valkyrie is something I'd wait to see on dvd and not at the box office. With this economy I'm surprised so many are still going to the theater.

I don't let any person's private and personal life interfere with the way I view them. I have no right to judge them. I am no better than anyone else in this world and I think it is wrong to to judge someone's personal life and let that control whether or not you would see them in a movie....

His life really hasn't had much effect on my deciding not to go see his movies, I gave up on him after the last Mission Impossible movie.

I don't know about "dangerous" but I do think he's a stupid idiot whose gone off the deep end..and not just because of Scientology. He made a fool of himself on Oprah jumping on that couch, slams Brooke Shields...and I think his relationship with Kate is a "fake" to cover the fact he's gay!
