Why do people appear on shows like Maury and stuff?

Why would anybody who knows they were cheating or whatever go on one of those shows to be embarrassed in front of everybody? what is the point? they have a choice but still they go on. WHY?

    Its the whole 15 minutes of fame thing.

    All they want is to be seen, just once, for something.

    Its pathetic.
