How do you create a custom icon for macro buttons in Excel 2007?

I had to up grade my computer from Microsoft Office 2000 to Office 2007 here at work. Since then it's been a major drag using this difficult program Almost nothing works like it did it the previous versions. It's like I'm having to learn a whole new program I've never used before. Anyway, in my previous versions, I had my macro buttons with my own custom icon images. Does 2007 allow you to paste your own icon images like the earlier versions did? If not, MS is really going the way of the US automakers (not a good sign). The automakers made cars according to what THEY thought the people needed instead of finding out what people actually wanted and making those kind of cars instead. The previous Office versions worked great! Why in the heck did they think they had to re-do how it all works. My work is now slower and I can't even create a simple document the way I'd like because I'm spending too much time trying to find out where all the features are now located! Can anyone help me out with this little macro icon problem? Which, by the way, is pretty big to me? Thanks.

Yes, the Excel 2007 ribbon takes getting used to. You can add buttons to the Ribbon but it is pretty tedious.

You can add icons to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT). This is the only toolbar in Excel. It is the toolbar appearing at the top left of Excel.

In the workbook with the macro, do the following:

Right-click the QAT and select Customize Quick Access Toolbar.

In the drop-down box labeled Choose Commands From, select Macros.

Select the macro from the list.

    Click the Add button

Click the Modify button to change the icon

The new QAT button only works when the workbook that contains the macro is open. The macro works only when that workbook is the active workbook.

In order to run a macro from the QAT when any workbook is active, store the macro in your Personal Macro Workbook.

it is strictly the comparable, in simple terms extra straightforward because of fact rather of going to the drawing bar merely click on Insert tab, then shape, draw your shape and as before once you have extra text fabric to it and formatted it on your desired shade (blue is the default) merely good button of mouse back right down to Assign Macro and click on the macro which you have possibly already created. i might merely say that 2007 isn't rubbish as some people seem to think of. it is barely that they have not stricken, not having the persistence probably to get to comprehend it which in the event that they did they might know how lots extra logical it is to apply.
