if the phone company shuts off your friends phone from long distance?

calls then shuts it off for no money on bill and they are on a landline hooked to the internet are they automatically taken off the net?does that mean they tell the internet company they are with.I think the internet is separate billing but if no phone thay cant be on here is that right?how would they do that???

    Well, it COULD be like you say. However, I have Verizon as both my dsl carrier and my phone company.

    Even though I get separate statements from Verizon, it's still the same company. So I suppose if I were delinquent in one area, they could shut me off in the other..

    I really don't know, I'm only offering an opinion here.
