friends' house haunted?
sorry that it is so long but i thought that you might want to know what might have exactly happened.
ok, so my friends just moved into a new house about 4 months ago. and i already know that you are not supposed to be using a ouija board so don't tell me that...anyways, so they were playing with it while they were on the phone with me. and they told me that nothing had happened that it hadn't moved or anything and so we continued talking on the phone until it was time for me to hit the hay. over the next few months weird things started happening. they told me, 2 months ago, that one of them was asleep and the other was staying up late and was looking into her closet for something. She told me that she had heard her name being called very silently in a whisper tone and so she asked her sister the next morning. her sister, the other friend, told her that she was going crazy and walked off. a few weeks later that same friend was painting her nails when the nail polish bottle started moving across the table nearly falling off. (she saved it in time). then about 2 weeks ago, she and her sister were in their beds watching tv, when their bathroom door opened. they screamed and begged for anything to close it, suddenly it closed. than they calmed down and decided to go to sleep. as they were laying there in their beds the ceiling fan started moving on its own and when they told it to stop once again it did...
could it be from the ouija board they used?
trust me i am not lying and i know my friends aren't.
any explanation?

I totally believe u this has happened 2 me also, wen my grandpa died fans turned on automatically alarms wen off. water turns on by its self! ppl believe that ghosts have a connection 2 electricity. its possible that it is a relative that passed away. or some one that lived in the house before died. in fact the exact same thing happened to me with the door. if they have any pets i suggest a pet phsysic the animals can see the ghosts and communicate with them. its very interesting. and the phsycics are not fakes trust me my animals have been read before
the ghosts will not cause any harm

Is the house really old? Was it built over anything? Did something terrible occur there?

This is kind of a neat site.
I do believe in this stuff. I have used an ouija board before, but honestly either my friends and I didn't use it correctly or it was crap.
Try to come to peace with it.
I sound like a crazy nut, but I've had a little experience of my own to ensure my doubts. My uncle also lives in a home that's over a generation old, and they believe the house is haunted.
My friend's uncle had an experience in an old hotel that was built over a civil war battlefield.
I def. agree to get rid of the board though! Again try to make peace with the spirits, and let them know you're not there to harm them.
To make your friends feel a little better. Make sure your fan isn't tilted. If I turn mine on, and then turn it off-it'll keep going very slowly because it's a little slanted to one side. Gotta' get my dad to fix that. :) If it's full fled going-that's creepy!

Wow, that seems pretty creepy! I'm not a ouija board expert, but what I do know is that anything is possible.
But have your friends considered that there may be a wild animal (maybe rats) or other people in the household who could purposely be scaring them? Or maybe its possible there is a part of the house they don't know of or are not familiar with (a basement, attic, closet, etc). Its possible someone unexpected is living inside of it.
So in a nutshell, don't limit the possibilities to just the ouija board. Good luck to you!
Source(s): The basement thing actually happened to me when my mom and I were buying houses, and it turned out a hobo was living in a basement, haunting people for years! - Anonymous1 decade ago
WOW! Well, there doesn't seem to be any physical danger yet...but if anything else happens I would try to contact a physic or something that deals with this and try to ban it from their house. I'm not sure if it was from the Ouija board though, since nothing happened when they used it. If it isn't though...it's definitely odd. But like I said, you guys need to take care of it somehow. Maybe they should stay at a friend's house or hotel or something until it goes away...

Look, seeing creepy things in a "haunted" house is a self-fulfilling prophecy (not to mention they COULD be pulling your leg about some of this stuff, not lying to be mean, just teasing a friend). You tell us third-hand this is happening, there's really no way we can prove or deny it, or even suggest other causes.
But put on a disbelievers hat for a moment and look for potential holes in the story. Late at night when you are tired you think you hear your voice being called, but you are wrong, it's happened to the sanest people. We've not way to know if she accidentally pushed the table with the nail polish without realizing it. We have no way to know if air currents in the house sometimes push doors or fans slightly in ways you don't always notice but freak you finally see it after a creepy movie. I can't know but you can look for that. And again we can't know if your friends are drama queens who embellish stories without realizing it (not liars, just people who misremember towards the fantastic).

It's not haunted. Hell, I've bruised and cut myself in my sleep before (nothing bad). As for the ghosts, they don't exist. Go play imagination land somewhere else.

i don't think the the ouija board caused the ghosts or w/e to come. Now if there was possibly a ghost and then y'all messed with the board then they get pissed and can get aggressive. My aunt is going threw the same thing. Don't use that ouija board anymore. If there is a ghost since they just moved in, the ghost is trying to run them off out of the house because they think that their home still. The ghost feels like they(your friends) are intruders in their home. get a catholic bishop up in there if anything else starts happening.

Thats cool, you need to go over there, try to get some EVP's or something. I've heard some weird things happen after using ouija boards, i've never used one a couple of my friends did and said nothing ever happened. It would be cool though to go over and do some more investigating. Good luck.

It's not the ouija board's fault. The house is haunted by a benign ghost. Tell your friends to buy a sage smudger (sage tightly tied with string) and to do this when it's just the two of them at home. Have them say a prayer to God to help this ghost to find peace. Then, starting at the northwest corner of the house, have them light the smudger with a match or lighter and walk through every room, along the walls, and tell them to be sure to get every corner of every room (including the closets) smoky, while repeating their prayer. If there is more than one floor, including the basement and the attic, they need to do this smudging in every room, every corner, walking to their right only (clockwise) from the northwest most corner on each floor, and in every room they should start from the door in the same direction. I'm a good Catholic who is also a white witch, and I smudge every place I live in to help any ghosts or bad spirits to move. In the case of me and my husband, we come with our own very benign ghosts whom we want to live with us (my 'guardian angel, who is a great, great uncle and has been mine since I was two, and his mother who died in April but evidently loves him and me better than his siblings and spouses), but if your friends don't have their own ghosts, this will at least help the other benign ghosts to 'pass' to the next life. As I said, these ghosts are benign, and can't hurt anyone. They are doing things just to be 'recognized' and they may actually have no 'spiritual connection' to that house at all, but simply to them (ghosts seem to like teenagers best for some reason) but this should get the ghosts to 'move on' ... and if they get new ghosts, all they'll have to do is smudge the house again. Burning sage is a very pleasant odor, by the way, and the smoke is gone very quickly ... the Native Americans have done this smudging since before the white man came to the US in many different tribes, a similar ritual is done in South America and in Africa, and also in Malaysia and Indonesia. It works ... that's what really counts, and I'm sure that whatever 'god' your friends believe in or if they don't believe at all, this will help them feel more comfortable and welcome in their new(ish) home.

It could be the ouija board or the house could have been haunted from the beginning! I would cleanse the house by burning a smudge stick of white sage and lavender!

well. it might be a spirit from the ouija board. i had something like that happen to me except it ws with a picture i took in a graveyard. how i stopped it was that i got rid of the picture. so maybe get rid of the board and it might help and if that doest work get your house blessed by a priest. hope i helped and good luck. God bless
