Can we ever really rank Wlad Klitscho as a truly great Heavyweight when he hasn't fought ANYONE in years?

Granted it's not his fault that everyone else sucks, but any other multiple Champion with 50-odd wins would be ranked amongst the greats, but Wlad has fought no-one of any worth for years now. How would he have done in a decent division? The only one we can look at is when Lennox beat him, but that's about it. I'm open to all opinions

I don't know anyone who considers Wladimir Klitschko one of the all-time great heavyweights. He's just the best one around today, with the possible exception of his brother, Vitali.

Rocky Marciano had a similar "Who did he beat?" problem. Rocky beat everyone who set foot in the ring with him, and he took on all comers. Wladimir has been doing the same.

In case you don't know the story, both Floyd Patterson and his manager, Cus D'amato, knew Floyd couldn't beat Sonny Liston. So they ducked him. Then Floyd got invited to the White House to meet President John F. Kennedy. JFK asked Floyd who his next opponent would be. Floyd knew he couldn't say "John-John," so he had to say "Sonny Liston." We know what happened then -- twice.

All we can expect of a champion is that he fight the best opponents available. Wladimir has done that. He hasn't ducked anyone. Floyd ducked everyone. We will never know how Wladimir would have fared against Joe Louis or Muhammad Ali, but it's a safe bet that he would have fought them. Floyd, when he was champion, would have ducked them both. He preferred to give Pete Rademach, our Olympic Gold Medalist, an opportunity to fight for the Heavyweight Championship of the World in his pro debut. Sonny Liston, Zora Foley and Eddie Machen were out there, but Floyd passed them by. He was a disgrace to the game.

Lenox Lewis beat his brother Vitali the WBC champion, and wlad has yet to fight a elite heavyweight, he has beaten all the top 10 but there are guys like Haye, Arreola, his brother, and Valuev, and Chagaev that he has yet to face and if he dosent fight htem, his legacy will be in question and you would think what could have been.

he's unquestionably in the suitable 10 heavyweights. no one in heavyweight historic previous replaced into as feared or as dominant as he replaced into in the time of his only right 6-7 years. additionally, he merits an incredible type of credit for regaining 2 (2) titles after being in detention center for 3 years. He had 11 identify defenses in under 6 years, it is extremely incredible. And to characteristic to that, Tyson replaced into 37-0 with 40 3 knockout, 19 in the 1st around, in the previous dropping his first combat to Bust Douglas. it is untouchable.

No, he just has not beaten any outstanding boxers. Mike Tyson, Ali, or Foreman would have knocked him out!

Pay per view has destroyed boxing in the USA. I used to watch fights on HBO and on ABC on Saturday, but since you have to pay to see all the good fights; I haven't watched a boxing match in years. Greedy idiots!
