Why is it that people say the UFC is better than boxing when all Dana White wants to see is a stand up fight?

All Dana wants is a KO. People boo when the fight goes to the ground for long periods of time. If people don't like the BJJ aspect of the game, then what they are really looking for is a tattooed boxer with smaller gloves.

Dana is just trying to promote his game. I love both MMA and Boxing and many other sports.

much of the following of MMA and UFC is still young guys wanting to see some blood and KO. and so if thats the money Dana likes it. That is why PRIDE was so awesome. not so much politics.

however Dana i'm sure is very respective of BJJ and all the down fighting but the UFC is a standup OR big wrestler pin on cage, ground and pound. either way its not the true essence of MMA (mixxed martial arts)

the sport will become better balanced when the money rolls in and the veiwers watch. then it won't have to be favored for the crown. thats just what i think though.

First off, Dana has never stated he wants a stand up fight and he obviously values the ground game as he bigs up the BJJ and wrestlers just as much, if not more than the stand up specialists.

The reason you hear boos when two BJJ guys are fighting is because there's still an element of drunk red neck morons who still think its 'cage fighting'. It's MIXED MARTIAL ARTS and the UFC fights reflect this with the full spectrum of different styled fighters they have.

Personally, I love both boxing and MMA, just as I love to watch pure BJJ, pure Taekwondo and any other pure martial art. None are better or worse, they're completely different arts and disciplines and should be viewed and respected as such.

That's why I don't think the Golden Boy/Affliction thing is going to work, they're seperate entities.

Cause dana knows that boxing is better. I dont blame him if he doesnt like 2 men rolling around on the floor in tights.
