whats leaking antifreeze in my 1991 ford ranger?

i have a 1991 ford ranger king cab. its a 4.3l engine 6cyl. it leaks but when i got to the leak, it looked like a drain for the ac. it was underneath the ac/heater fan. And have a heavy smell of antifreeze in the cab when i turn on my heat. and when it was really cold my windows were clear. and when i turned on my heater, the windows just got foggy really dang quick. Please. i leave my hope to all of my fellow yahoo answerers. thank you.

sounds like a heater core and in the ranger it is very easy to replace.

heater core. here's the funny part i had one leaking in my 1990 for a few years had bought the part and put off changing it for atleast three years finally got tired of smelling it and decided to tackle what i thought would be a huge undertaking,(like most heater cores) i got out the book and found all i had to do was remove 4 screws on the heater box and 2 hose clamps. real easy took less than 30 minutes.

It sounds to me like your heater core has gone bad. It ofter happens to cars as they get older. I've had several cars that have had that occur and both times it was the heater core. Does it drip antifreeze onto the floorboard. that is almost a dead giveaway. The fogging windows and strong antifreeze scent are also indications that has what happened.

Your heater core is bad. Replace it with a factory Ford core or one from NAPA. Do not use the brands sold buy Autozone or Advance Auto Parts. Fitment and quality on those brands are poor.

your heater core is probably leaking, or maybe you might be lucky and it's only a heater hose going to the heater core
