I can't play songs I bought off of iTunes?

I spent a ton of money on songs I legally bought off of iTunes. Whenever I try to sync my ipod it says that my computer isn't authorized to play the songs. Then it gives my a list of songs and that's it. I've tried customizing my security system. I can get songs off of CDs just not iTunes.

Update:

Can you give me details on how I can authorize my computer?
