Has anyone had this problem before?

Need help resolving a 95 Ram Issue. Please help Dodge Man!?

I have a 95 Ram 1500, 5.2/318 4x2, 185,000 miles. I am experiencing a loss of power. Truck does not idle funny or anything like that, but it does not feel like a V8 anymore. When I apply gas it feels like it isn't getting enough fuel or something, then the accelerator pedal will get harder to push down. When I press it down that extra little bit, the RPMs jump to 3000+ and the truck takes off as if I have the pedal to the floor.

What I have done so far in my attempt to troubleshoot (not in this order):

-Replaced accelerator cable.

-Checked throttle body valves to make sure they open up fully with pedal to the floor. Throttle body doesn't appear clogged or dirty - did not do a thorough cleaning.

-Checked Throttle Position Sensor voltage according to the Haynes book I have. (5.0 DC V with connector detached, 0.5 DC V w/ throttle valve fully closed, 3.5 DC V full throttle)

-Checked all the vacuum lines I could find to see that they are holding vacuum, replaced 2 vent door accuators on A/C.

-Beat (not too hard) on the Catalytic converter to see if it rattles, no rattle - this was what someone said I should do to try and tell if the inside was falling apart and clogging exhaust.

-Changed out spark plugs.

-Purhased some high grade fuel injector cleaner (Lucas brand) to see if it can clean the injectors better than STP can.

-Fuel filter combo looks new - did not take it off because it sits above fuel tank.

-Exhaust rattled off exhaust manifold a few months back, I stuck it back on without replacing the gasket, could this cause problems?

-Feels like transmission slips a little bit now and again (don't know if this is related or helpful)

I think that's everything related. Where should I go from here? Do you think maybe I'm missing a vacuum hose somewhere? Could I need new fuel injectors? Is the fuel pump clogged thanks to this gas crisis a couple months ago here in Atlanta where we all got the bottom of the tanks? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time!

you need to check the free play in the timing chain and gears in it, when they get so much play in them the computer can no longer time the engine right and will cause a bad loss of power on it,those need to be replaced at about 150 thousand in any dodge engine built that runs a chain and gears if you don't you will loose enormous amounts of power,it don't matter what you do to the top of the engine if its not timing its self right it will continue to loose power,id check the free play and also run a fuel pressure test on it,mine broke a few weeks ago at 140 thousand,so your lucky it hasn't broke in too yet,the timing is where you get your power from on any engine,if its out of time it don't matter what you do to it ,it still wont run right until this is corrected, good luck, and have good holiday season,

well are you familiar with the crankshaft position sensor, it has a magnet that reads a balancer that has a lot of teeth and if one is broken or worn it will be acting like that or worse the best way is having your engine overhauled and make sure that even if you do the job yourself try to buy the electrical parts at the dealer
