I need help with my pitches. ?

I have no idea what's wrong with my pitches. I can throw in the mid to upper 90s (97-98). But, before I try out for a team I need more than a fastball and sick change up. My 2 seam fastball @90 ft breaks super hard. But, at 60 ft it does a whole lot of nothing. I throw it with a 3/4 slot instead of overhand. If I throw it overhand its the same thing though. My slider, same thing sick movement after 60ft. The way I throw this one is also overhand or 3/4 i mix it up because I can throw slightly faster at 3/4, but I can't get a good change up (at 3/4) with it being that I throw in a palm ball grip. So I can't leave a pattern. Now all of my pitches break to late. My slider is being thrown hard as hell and the catcher sees the perfect dot meaning it's spinning proper. Any ideas? Also my 2 seam fast ball goes wild right after 60ft and for some reason overhand breaks more just nothing before 60. Now what can I do to make it break faster?

Update:

ps. I don't need to lie, I throw hard, I don't know how to try out for a team. I used to play and had talent and now I'm trying to show it again. Also before any questions emerge about it. I have a catcher. It's my gf she played guys baseball for 12 years she knows what the pitches are supposed to do. (and yes she is in full gear when I throw it)

Update 2:

As for the no one ever heard of me BS. You are right no one has. Now why would anyone have heard of someone who hasn't played on a HS or College team? They probably heard of me through MMA, but not baseball. How can I be heard of. I want to. I'll prove it back it up and walk with it. Just someone tell me HOW!

I would recommend making your two seamer break faster by throwing it maybe 5 mph slower so it can break a little quicker. As for your pitch that has good mpovement at 90 but nothing at 60 I would recommend trying to drop down to sidearm and see if that works.

You need a pitching coach. Simple as that. In a higher league it is about movement and placing. If you throw just speed you will get countless hits over the wall. You need control before speed to make it anywhere. Not only will a coach help you with it but also that is one more person to get your name out there and might get the right person's attention. Hell, get a high school pitching coach to help you. But I can guarantee along with many other pitchers that speed isn't everything and just a fastball and changeup can be fatal in a higher league. Need to work on numerous different pitches, There are at least 21 different pitches.

I will tell you what I was told all the time. Control first and then the speed will come. So in your case once you get your control down and have pitches then you will be tearing it up!

    hope this helped.

Source(s): Softball pitcher for 15 years. can throw: screw, drop, rise, knuckle, palm ball, horseshoe changeup, drop change, curve, and my fastball is more of a drop. has speed but a wicked spin so it drops like a rock.

Fastball and changeup are the best 1-2 punch in pitching. Greg Maddux is the best pitcher in our lifetime (I'm assuming you're a young man) and he lived off a fastball and sick changeup - he hardly ever threw anything else. Work on movement and placement with a 2 seamer, a 4 seamer, and a good change and let everything else just fall into place.

As far as help, I'm not a pitching coach so all I can offer is practice, practice, practice.

I was a catcher throughout the first 18 yrs of my life and I've seen guys with good stuff, but nothing like your stuff. I do have an answer though. Sometimes less is more. Throw your pitches at less than 100% until you find the speed that gives you the action you want out of the pitch. Hitting is all about timing. Pitching is simply disrupting that timing. Change of speed and location are the 2 most important parts of pitching.

i find it hard to believe that you throw 97-98 mph and youre asking for pitching help on yahoo answers hahah if you really throw that hard and have a sick changeup im sure there are plenty of major league pitching coaches that would be very eager to help you out

LOL, these "I throw in the upper 90s" (but no one has ever heard of me) posts never get old. Absolutely hilarious.
