Can you imagine the media outrage had it been Obama's church set on fire?

but being that it was Palin's...hardly a blip on the news. Of course hate crimes can only happen to black democrats, right?

It is very interesting that the media has been virtually silent on this incident. An alternative explanation may be that since Palin is no longer running for vp the media may have forgotten where Alaska is again.

BEACHBUM: Are you saying that minorities can't hate? Sometimes it seems the media has this impression.

Actually in a sense Yes. Hate crimes were setup to protect minorities, being that Obama and Wright are African it would be considered a hate crime.

    TINCOAT:

Not at all, I was definitely not saying that. Look up hate crime in a law book or I`m sure if you just googled it you will see that "hate crimes" were created back in the 60`s I believe to "protect" minorities and required stiffer sentencing, then say for a minority that committed the same crime against a non-minority. It was to be a deterrent. Just another form of Affirmative Action if you ask me. Where are the love crimes? lol

But I do have to agree that if this was Obama`s church or Rev. Jesse Jackson's church the ACLU would be involved. The media covered it on the first day and then pretty much dropped it the next

It doesn't matter whose church it is; an act of arson is inexcusable. Certainly, the church of the President-elect would grab more media attention; that should not be surprising. Is Gov. Palin being overlooked? No. Let it go, man. Peace.

It is an outrage when any church is set on fire. Who knows what morally defunct individuals set Palin's ablaze - but any time this happens, we all lose.

The fact that God allows his own houses of worship to burn, makes atheists smile and say, "I told you so".
