the new G1 or the Behold (t-mobile)???

Having a hard time deciding - Although the G1 has new software from google (and stuff) I'm getting good and bad (not terrible) opinions from new users to the G1 _ Anybody out there have the new Behold from t-mobile......how do you like it?????

Hoping to get a x-mas bonus this year from work.....and ready for a new phone.

Based on what I've seen on the Behold, and some of the reviews I've read, I can't imagine how anyone could be confused over these two devices, since they're so different.

I own a G1, and I love it. It's replaced my phone (last one a Blackberry Pearl), my laptop when I travel home for weekends and my mp3 player when I'm out or in the gym. I like the connection to Google's apps best of all. I don't have to tether myself to one computer with one set of synced contacts, calendar and mail. I can reach it anywhere on the net, and it follows me on the G1.

Now, there are some rough edges on this device. The fact that you can't copy apps to the SD card yet is a pain. The music app is primitive. I can think of a bunch of "geeky' things I'd like to be able to do with the phone at the root level but can't yet. But I also know, as someone who's worked in IT for a long time, that early adopters have to sometimes put up with missing features and the occasional bug.

Here's an example: to turn the phone's GPS on, you have to go into the settings and select it (I usually leave it off for battery savings). I found an app on the Android Market called ToggleGPS that would activate it with one touch. The problem is it didn't work on my phone (this isn't a knock...other people love it...when it's updated, I'll try it again). So, one or two touches, and it's uninstalled.

Once those issues are worked out (and they will be...there's too much competition out there), the phone will get better than it already is.

If all you want is a really good phone, then the behold is probably what you want. For me, the G1 does so much good stuff well, I'd have a hard time giving it up for something else.

I just got a Tmobile Behold today from the mall. I like it. It doesn't set me off like I thought a new touch screen phone would do but I guess it's ok. Better than what I had (metro pcs)! I like how you can send voice cards..it gives you these different frames that you can take a picture and put your face in and put a voice note along with it and send it to anyone. I didn't get the internet service (yet) because I figured why? I have a laptop and a iTouch for wifi connection. Anyway..You can also change the font from regular..kind of cursive then all the way cursive which is pretty. The widget bar is on the side which can either be helpful or annoying. ALSO a good thing is you can record voice notes up to 60 minutes/ 1 hour. That's nice! AND since I got my Behold today..I had all my numbers in my old phone and I was like wow what I drag..I have to switch them over manually..seems to find out I was bluetoothin songs from my old phone to my new phone and it said I can send ALL my contacts! So i found that out after I put like 20 numbers in lol but atleast I found it. It does have games..and the guy said something about left to right turn GPS but I don't see it yet..maybe you have to have the internet with it? I dunno but I would rather have the iphone anyday or this but hey I have to count my blessings. I don't like the G1 phone being that is does not have a headset port! Big problem! Also it just looks weird! It looks old school and it looks like it's been made in some other country that does not know about new technology these days. Also I don't like how it slides out into the keyboard..It should either be a touch screen OR a slide out. So I hope it answered your question! I just got my behold today from the mall for christmas..I like it dont get me wrong but I just..am not all the way satisfied..it does take me alot to get satisfied electronically lol
