My 5 year old grandson was on the computer playing a game of his and did something to puter.?
His game takes up the entire screen. The game is Jump Start for first grade and he pushed a button that "came on" and now everything on my computer is way larger than it should be. I checked the game and there is nothing there that would change the size of the entire computer system. Can anyone tell me how to fix it? I tried the zoom and several things in the computer and I sure can't figure it out.

to change your resolution in XP (works on some earlier versions of windows too)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/per...
on Vista
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/hel...
Some games just set a low resolution before they start because its faster or its an older game or whatever the reason may be and after closing they don't switch to the original resolution back correctly; could just be the game crashed or whatever.
oops messed up on the links there

This is what happened. Most games run in a certain screen resolution and changes it accordingly, returning it to normal when it closes. Unfortunately, the game encountered an error, causing it to forget about returning the screen to it's proper resolution. Simply right click on your desktop and click on properties, then the display tab. Move the slider to the right.

Unfortunately some games do that because of their graphics requirements. On your desktop screen you should be able to right click and go to personalize or settings. From there you can go to display settings and change it back to what it used to be. If you don't know what it was, try playing around with the options it gives you to see what works best.

Go to your desktop, on said desktop right click, click the Properties button, then the Settings tab.
There's a little slider bar for the resolution, move it up and hit Apply (or Ok) till the resolution is the size you want it to be.

The game lowered the resolution.
Right-click the desktop.
Click Properties (Windows XP) or (Personalize) Windows Vista
Go to the Settings tab and drag the resolution slider up.
Keep dragging it and clicking Apply until you find your original resolution.

oh that can easily be fixed.
he just enlarged all of the script and images b/c the program must have had an option that allowed everything to be bigger and sometimes when that happens everything appears to be larger on the computer.
either:
1. ask him what it was he pressed by going through the game with him so that he remembers what it could be and show you
2. go through computer to settings or appearnce and try to change it
3. go through the game yourself and play around witht he buttons trying to see if you can change it.

Hello,
Your best bet would be to into the administrative section of your computer, you are the administrator. Go into the start, left hand corner of your screen. Go into control panel, there you will see the one you need, called the display, go to the settings and change what you need to change from there.
Sure hope that this helps you out.
Take Care,
JK

From your description, it sounds like the resolution has been dropped.
Go to Control Panel --> Display Properties.
(Control Panel --> Personalization --> Display Settings on Vista.)
Use the slider to push your resolution up, till it was were it should be.
Click on "Apply", and "OK".

The game exited unproperly and changed your resolution to one thats larger than what your used to. Right click your desktop > properties > click the settings tab and adjust the slider to a resolution that appealing to you and right for the monitor > click apply.

If you have windows xp on the desktop you need to right click the background and click display modes then there should be the words "high colour" and "true colour" one should be ticked click true colour and click the one that isn't ticked then your screen should go back to normal size.
