My TSH level is 8.98...what does this mean? ?
I just learned my TSH level is 8.98. I am confused as to what this means? I have always been hypothyroid and have taken Synthroid and Cytomel for the last 12 years (I am in my early 20's)...What needs to be changed and what are some of the symptoms associated with this?
oh, and i do take my meds everyday!!

Hi. It most likely means you are now NOT taking enough Synthroid and Cytomel for your needs, and are now hypo again. How do you feel? Do you have hypo symptoms like fatigue, less energy than others, dry skin, dry hair, low grade depression, brain fog...because if you do, bingo.
Also, you should know that a large body of patients who used to be on synthetic T4 and synthetic T3 (i.e. Synthroid and Cytomel), and who changed to desiccated thyroid like Armour, report that the effects are even better. That''s probably because Armour contains everything your own thyroid would be giving you: T4. T3. T2 T1 and calcitonin.
I highly recommend you read the below link. It has a lot for you. :)
