Both names are on the deed? What about the note to the bank? Your name can be on the deed and not on the loan. When the bill comes, does it have BOTH names on it? Did you both sign papers at the closing? If the answer is yes, they will come after you as well, you cannot just walk away without any repercussions.

No not until your name is removed. Sorry but you will only be hurting yourself if you choose to do this
