The Minnesota recount?

Who out here, beside me, has figured out that by the time they are done with recounts and legal challenges, it will have cost more than just running another election?

according to the Detroit News, ACORN has helped 200,000 voters register in the State of Michigan. That number is by far enough to swing an election.

a far more disturbing fact is the Detroit News is also reporting that it is Acorn's policy to forward to City Clerks any and all Voter registration cards that they get filled out. Even ones that are signed Mickey Mouse.

franken has a lot of allies who have more than questionable tactics and the man in charge of the ballot counts is also associated with ACORN.

Mabye MI is vying for second most corrupt state.

Apparently you have no idea what it costs to hold an election.

Printing up ballots, staffing polls, going through voter registrations, etc. costs a state millions.

Several people sitting around a table arguing about a ballot's legitimacy comparatively costs nothing. Even when you include the small amount of a state or federal judge's time to rule on various issues that crop up, the total is quite small in comparison.

I wondered about that as well.

The really odd thing is, when all the talk started about the recount, my first thought was: "well, Franken is behind now, but I'm certain that the longer this goes on, the better the chance that he pulls ahead." And that is what happened.

Norm Coleman did, but he didn't propose another election, he just declared victory and demanded that Franken concede to spare the fine citizens of the State of Minnesota the time and expense of a recount. And he did want to have quite a few ballots that were improperly rejected just thrown out of the recount, that would have saved some more time and money...constitutional rights of the electorate aside.

That ol' Norm, he's quite the thinker. It's been just this way of thinking that got us where we are today-in more ways than one.

In a Democracy every legitimate vote must be counted. Or you might subscribe to the Coleman theory, seem to be ahead, declare victory,Coleman's supporters gave him illegal funds, he will be going to jail anyway.
