A book is usually a good gift. if you kow what activities or hobies they are interested in you can find a a book of interesting facts, trivia or something of the history of that interest.
Otherwise you could buy them the biography of an interesting historical person.

female - candle set ,gloves, and scarf hat set
dollar store gift bag, just gift bag with stuff form the dollar store candy, pens, highlighters, snacks, hand lotion etc etc

A new dayplanner. Everyone needs a new one for the new year anyway, and managers have a lot of things to keep track of so it would be helpful.
