1990 full size blazer?

5.7liter engine. Yesterday I took my trk out after 10 mins of driving it the trk lost heat n started shifting funny n overheated. Got 2 where I was going and shut it off. Tried starting it again 20 mins later an it wouldn't start finally it did once again lost all heat it overheated and started blowing a mass amount of smoke! The trk is running really rich and smoke smells of gas. I replaced the thermostat and radiator recently ive put in msd ignition. Does any1 have any clue what's goin on with my trk? Its my only vehicle and I can't afford a garage 2 fix it my boyfriend can do it but is stumped completely! Any help would be appreciated!!

Update:

Spark plugs are clean no water in the oil. Raditor was flowin over in2 the overflow.

Update 2:

What I mean by lost heat is that it was blowin cold. Coolant isn't leaking anywhere its not circulating its overflowing in2 the coolant overfill container.

You may have a bad intake gasket or a blown head gasket.

Both are common on the 5.7L.

Either could leak coolant and cause overheat as well as poor running condition.

What do you mean "it lost heat"? If the coolant froze the symptoms would be exactly as described. Lack of coolant circulation through the heater core is the reason the heater air blows cold. It may have almost enough anti-freeze so that it warms up when idling or going slow but when you get up speed the increased air through the radiator freezes the coolant, circulation stops, heater begins to blow cold air, and lastly truck overheats, puts out white smoke and steam and finally catches on fire and burns to the ground.

should have shut it off as soon as it started to overheat is the radiator still full?check the oil if it has water in it then there is engine damage if not may be the water pump
