How do you file for power of attorney in the state of Pennsylvania?

The father is from India and his son works in the United States, and his son cannot speak or communicate. The father needs power of attorney to access his bank accounts to take money out. He needs help tremendously.

You DON'T file for a power of attorney. The SON gives a 'power of attorney' to the father. It is NEVER granted in any other way. If the son can work in the US, he CAN communicate well enough to grant a 'power of attorney'.

I suggest contacting an attorney to discuss any options they may have. Perhaps legal guardianship is what you need. That CAN be granted by the court and include control of bank accounts.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help. But I have power of atty of my grandmother and cousin here in Illinois. All that was necessary was to get a copy of power of atty document which u can buy anywhere. Online, office max, or depot, those kinds of stores and fill it out. A notary public has to verify signatures of course and you may need a witness. You don't have to consult an attorney of course u can if u want but it's fairly easy to do by yourself. Google should be of some help as well in this matter as far as how it goes from state to state, but it couldn't be much different.

i could advise you call the family individuals regulation branch on your city/county courthouse and ask. of direction you will desire to ask in the two states to make useful, and the clerks can provide elementary information as to what you would be able to desire to do subsequent. (no criminal suggestion nonetheless) stable good fortune :)
