Why do christians say why don't you read the Bible ?

When they are talking to unbelievers or people who may read the Bible and see it in a different way.

For unbeliever most always start at The Old Testament ... and because their eyes are not open they can not understand what it is telling them therefore they can not understand a God that is so cruel .. When we Know the truth and we should of told them...

But all we say is read the Bible For the truth is not in them.... and they don't find out why God has done these things because they stop reading.

Other people that read the Bible but read it in a different content that what it is meant for they can use this against God and turn things around and say God told us to kill ... We should tell people not just to read the Bible but tell them what we know it to be....The truth so they can see Gods Word in a different light .... and not what they want it to be....

Sweetie, you are missing the point that many non-believers used to be believers and have read the Bible with an open heart and totally understand it. I was one of them for many many years. I was a deacon in my church and believed with my whole heart for a long time. Please don't be condescending in your assumption to tell non-believers that it is because we don't understand that Bible. We understand it and that is the point.

God fought for the children of Jacob, and his heirs. God promised Abraham the land of Canaan, and would have done whatever was necessary to bring that promise to fruition. The problem with Israel was that they were continually griping, and disobeying God.There were many times when God allowed His own people to fall into enemy hands, and be made slaves to their enemies, because they would not repent, and be the holy nation of priests that God intended for them to be.

Once Israel killed their Messiah, God judged them for their unbelief in His only begotten Son, and set them aside as His instrument for taking salvation to the other nations of the world.

So, gone is the Kingdom program, set aside. Gone are the sign gifts that accompanied the pouring out of the Holy Ghost on Israel. God set aside everything that had to do with the promise of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. God knows that man will never be able to do good, and so, He sacrifices His Son. Christ, who was sinless, became sin and died on the cross, thereby paying the final price for ALL sins of the world; past, present, and future.

Sin is now defeated, and the Risen Christ raises up a new apostle, to carry the message of grace, a new Gospel for a new dispensation; the Gospel of the Grace of God, contained within the revelation of the mystery of God, which Christ gave to the Apostle Paul.

Most people do not know that there are 2 gospels contained in the Bible. Most people do not know that is the reason for having to "Study to show thyself approved unto God; a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth".

Most people do not know that the 4 gospels, although in the New Testament, are STILL teaching Judaism, but with Christ as Messiah.

Most people do not know that the Body of Christ was not started until Paul's message was made known.

Most people think that it is ALL the same message. Try to find the same teachings that Paul gave in the 4 gospels. They are not there.

So, tell me........why don't professing Christians read the Bible, themselves?

The Lord Jesus Christ revealed the mystery of God to Paul 20 centuries ago.........why is it that for 99% of professing Christians, it is STILL a mystery?

Oh my... so why did your god open your mind and not mine so I could understand the truth? How do you explain your gods penchant for mass murder in a good light, so I may understand...?

Because of all the Christian interpretations that are available today, how will I know your's is the right one? Please enlighten me.

By the way, I was in the priesthood of my church and have read and studied the Bible, so you need to REALLY impress me that my interpretation was wrong...

    Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays...

You're right. I don't understand why people say that to me when I don't believe in their god or anything. It is just another way for them to attempt to convert nonbelievers but not many of us would actually read the bible just because they tell us to.

I am not a christain and i ask you the same Q . why do you not read it . if you have an enemy will you not try to learn all you can about that enemy . Jesus said many will come and in his name and do evil things . this is referring to Christians that use the bible to punish and enslave .
