I know this is dissapointing, ( I was depressed when I found out, I felt stupid) but Santa is not real. He really WAS real a long time ago, so parents enjoy the "magic and spirit" of Christmas that they share with their kids during Christmas, pretending Santa is real. They feel like Santa should "live again". Christmas feels great thinking Santa is real, right? Well, that's pretty much why they do it. They want us all to feel good about Christmas. They are the ones who put the presents under the tree. TheyYou can look in the Dictionary and it even states that Santa isn't real. Well, now you don't have to look because I pasted it right under here.

Santa Claus |ˈsantə ˌklôz| (also Santa) an imaginary figure said to bring presents for children on Christmas. He is conventionally pictured as a jolly old man from the far north, with a long white beard and red garments trimmed with white fur. Also called Saint Nicholas or Saint Nick.

If I ruined Christmas for you, I'm really sorry, but it sounds like you'e old enough to find out. I hope I didn't spoil it for you!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!

Santa Claus, aka Saint Nicholas, was a real person.

A long time ago, my daughter ask me this same question. I'll tell you what I told her. First of all, I said, Santa is real because the person telling you this IS Santa Claus.

She stared at me because I had and still do have a rather long beard that has now gotten whiter with age.

I explained that being Santa is a gift that every parent gets at Christmas. Someday, when you're grown and have kids of your own, you'll have the job passed to you too.

Santa is less a stuffy guy in a red suit and a whole lot more a beautiful time in the life of a parent when they can forever make a difference on Christmas morning.

I miss being santa but I can tell you, all my kids are now grown and parents... and know exactly what it means.

    Merry Chrsitmas :)

The Spirit of Santa is very real and present during the Holiday Season.

I believe celebrating Christs birth and the kind spirit of Santa together was and is a wonderful idea.

Santa is real. At least as real as all the other stuff surrounding Christmas. How the hell could it not be real? Every year for a century they've been playing the same Christmas carols and for the last 60 or so they've included Santa.

Santa was pretty low-rent fake in the beginning but he's attained stature over the years . Same as that damned Rudolph Raindeer.

They aren't real enough to be worth anything except to merchants, but they're real enough to subject you to musical torture for a month and half every year if you leave your house.

    That's pretty real.

theres tons of people in history who santa was based off. One guy would give money to poor ladies who didnt have a dowery and would have to become wenches but when he save them from that fate by giving them money. Another made toys for kids who were too poor to have any.

Christmas is what christians celebrate for Jesus' birthday.

Santa the big man in a red coat, with flying reindeer, delivering toys to kids all around the world? fake. Were there real santas? yes...

Also there was a recent man who was known as Santa, he would give money to people randomly on the street. Anything from 10$ to 100$. Unfornately he died last year. It was a shame.

    Santa is not real.

    Your parents/relatives are Santa.

We celebrate Christmas to recognize the birth of Jesus. (Although most people forget that part)

    stick to statistics shall we?

there is 3 billion people in the world, and he has one night to deliever 3 billion presents in a very small sleigh.

also, for poor people in africa, and everything they wish they had food,

on christmas day they dont have food from santa now do they?

however, magic is real, and so santa uses magic.

but having faith and spirit in christmas makes him real.

it's all what you believe, anything is real. However, Santa was real back in the day, and the christmas spirit still goes on because of his greatness to the world.

    i believe he's real.

Santa is FAKE. He's just a myth that parents made up to get their kids to be good all year & go to bed on time.

Christmas isn't all about presents & "Santa". It's Jesus Christ's birthday & it's supposed to be celebrated a little more reverently than "Ooh, I wan THIS for Christmas!". It's also a time where people should be good to others & be more giving & generous. :)

    Merry Christmas! :)
