Is someone born gay or is it something they decide to try?

With all the talk about gay marriage I became curious about the lifestyle. I have been going to a few open minded clubs and the people are all great. I want to take the next step, but I am nervous and excited all at once. I think what scares me most is if I don't like it, will I be able to live with myself?

Both, most of us are born gay. There are rumors that you can be turned if something tragic happens. I personally believe that being gay has been turned into a Fad and everyone wants to try it. It is disrespectful to say the least. Being gay is not something to turn into the next big thing along the lines as bell bottoms, disco, big 80's hair, and heaven forbid teen pop music. Being gay is not always a choice as well. Some people would rather they weren't gay because of the way society has treated us. Hope this all helps.

People are born with different personal likes and dislikes. It's not what you decide to try or not, it's just a matter of what makes you feel happy. Of course you can try things with someone of the same sex, and that can aid the process of finding out your true sexuality, but most gay people have noticed some form of it along their lives. For me, I've known to some level since I was really young, but only just started confessing it to myself a few years age. What some people don't understand is that it's not a choice. You don't have to be born knowing, but through life, you should be able to figure it out. Personally, I think it's something you can investigate and maybe experience, and then maybe realize it's not right for you. You will be able to live with yourself more peacefully knowing that it isn't for you.

  • "I want to take the next step". This isn't a club. You don't get a membership card. You're gay if you're attracted to men. You didn't bother mentioning if you found men attractive or not, simply that you're curious if the gay sexual experience will be a pleasurable one to you or not.

If it's all about sex to you, I don't think you're gay, I think you just want to try a new way to get off.

All humans are born heterosexual. Some just decide to opt for perverted and sick options like homosexuality,

I didn't choose to be sexually aroused by males. I also didn't choose to not be able to be sexually aroused by females.

If you're able to simply switch like that, you're most definitely a bisexual.
