Yes you can, just substitute their cell number into the email address and then the @ and the domain for their specific carrier using these:

It depends which service the person has for their cell phone (e.g. virgin, AT&T, etc).

From some you will find that you can send an email to a special address, some allow you to do it from the site itself if you are a customer already.

Then again, there are AIM and Yahoo Messenger that allow you to do that. Some allow messaging from a landline.

Some cost money, some are cheap, a few are free.

Find out the company who provides service to the cell phone, get on the website, do a search for something like "send text from computer" and see what comes up. Often, the answer will be in the FAQ's.

Or, if that's too hard, give the help desk a call. Be prepared to wait.

You can do it on your email website such as yahoo.com. On the new yahoo mail you click on new and select send text message (sms) and enter the phone number on the to: field.

You can also send a text message using their email address with their cell phone company.

For T-Mobile

10 digit phone number@tmomail.net

For A T&T

10 digit phone number@txt.att.net

For Verizon

10 digit phone number@vtext.com

For Sprint

10 digit phone number@messaging.sprintpcs.com

* There are no spaces between the phone numbers and the email address.

try yahoo messenger and select send via SMS. Also you might eb able to send free text from the carrier's websites. Like t-mobile..good luck

If you have AIM, you can add someones number to your buddy list and from their just insant message their phone.. its comes up as a text on their phone =] hope that helps

the best way to do it is throw yahoo IM that way they can send it back to you throw text both ways you can even text there yahoo IM it is fun good luck
