forgot my adminstrative password for installation of xp?

Desktop went out over night and we cannot get it to restart. Have tried reinstalling but that doesnt work because it now asks for an admin password. We have never had one so we never needed one until now. What can we do. I have tried the restore disk and operating system disk set, but that doesnt work

Update:

Cannot afford the $$ per hour for them to drag me through the details. That is why I came here. I am not under warranty.

    first off, are you sure you have an administrator password? a blank password is valid for windows xp administrator account. if you need to crack the password, you can do the following:

    download ophcrack livecd from http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/download.php?type=...

    burn to cd-r

    boot from livecd, crack administrator password

    Call Microsoft or your computer's maker (HP, DELL, etc).
