If you're embarrassed about telling her, do it when she is in the middle of something, or about to go out so you don't have to stick around and have the embarrassing chat about it after lol.
I told my mum as i was going to bed, i just said i think i started my period, and then went and hid in my room. It wasn't nearly as bad as i thought it would be.
Good luck!

No worries. They way you should think of it is: once upon a time, your mom too had to tell her mom. She knows what you are going through!! Sometimes we just forget that are moms were once young!
Just tell her this:
You are kind of embarrassed of how to ask her this, but you need her help because you got your period and you need some...supplies...and a few words of encouragement.
She will most likely tell you not to worry and probably say she is happy for you.
Every woman has to go through it - so just take a deep breath, go up to her and tell her! I can guarantee you she went through the same thing no more than three weeks ago.
Ps. Welcome to womanhood.
cheers.

I know it's scary. I am 47. I remember I went into the bathroom and wiped myself and there was blood. I was about 11. I freaked out. My mom was in her room laying down. I said, "Mom I just got my period'. She said oh ok, and gave me this start up pack that she bought for me....looking back it is kind of cute. I am 47 and mom is 82 now. I don't even think she would remember it. In other words....no big deal...Just say...Mom, I got my period. She will be happy. U will have a bond between you.

Any time you have a change in your body or your health your mom needs to be advised. Just tell her. She has had periods for many years and will take care of your supplies and answer your questions. If you don't want to tell her in front of someone, ask her to come in your room or give her a note and tell her that way.
good luck..

Haha! I was in a dressing room right next to my mom's dressing room when I found out I had started and I was like "Mom...I think I just started my period!" LOL! Just tell her. She understands and has been through it herself. She'll enjoy being able to be there for her daughter.

Oh, just tell her 'mom i am going to be in use of those now', and she'll get it, i mean it's normal, i mean she knows that at a time or another you are gonna have it, don't be shy, just say it, it's normal after all, GOOD LUCK!

Just tell her. It's not as big of a deal as you think it is. Just say, "Mom, I need some pads (or tampons). I think I got my period."

Just tell her, she won't be mad at all it's something you cannot control. 90% of the time she will be excited.
She's going to find out sooner or later I mean what are you going to say when you get older? She will help you it's an emotional time for a parent to find out and a good emotional l mean the joy.
So tell her and she will help you just do it! You won't regret it!

Just be like
"Hey, mom...Um...yeah...I sort of just got my period"
and if she's anything like my mom she'll be like,
"Oh, Okay. Feminine products are under the sink"
You shouldn't be nervous about telling your mom, and, if she trys to talk with you about it, it's okay to remind her that you've taken health class.

"mom i got my period"
she'll understand, its not like she's gonna freak out or anything. It might be a little embarrassing, but you've gotta tell her sooner or later.
