Need help going from AT&T Router to Linksys WRT54G to Computer?

I connected the Linksys to the AT&T and my computer to the Linksys, but I can't get internet on my computer, even though the internet light on the Linksys is on. If I plug straight into the AT&T then it works fine, how do I configure it to work?

The shortest answer is that you want to download this utility ftp://ftp.linksys.com/downloads/NA/other/EasyLink_Connect.exe and run it.

The long answer (included just for detail sake is):

    1. Connect your ATT router to the internet and your computer to the Linksys as you have it now

    2. The cable from the ATT to the Linksys should connect a LAN port on each device (do not use the WAN port)

    3. The ATT will provide you DHCP (auto assigned IP addresses), so disable DHCP on the Linksys

The utility above should walk you through the nitty gritty of how to get things working.

Press and hold the reset button until all lights blink, you might just need to reset the router and its settings, after, turn off the modem and router and computer for 2-3 minutes to allow power to dissipate and reset, once done, power on following order, modem, router then computer and re verify connection.
