last year of manufacturing?

what was the last yr of the old body style truck, was it 97, 98, 0r 99 in the ford model

Update:

Forgot to mention this would be for the F-350 model, there were those that have said it went on until the 99 fords heavy dutys....really not sure and wish to purchase the latest model diesel, 4x4, crew, 6sp flr-box for towing

    ford made a major change to the style of the F150 in 1996. the model year is called 1997, but the trucks were actually available in May 1996

    it changed from a boxy style that they'd had from 1985 to a sleeker, more aerodynamic style with flush/integrated headlamps rather than the old rectangular style

    yes they changed the bodystyle for the f150 for the 1997 model year, but the f250 and f350 kept the old style until the model year 1998 came out. as a side note the cab is the same from 1980-96. you can interchange parts and have a 1980 look like a 1996 if you really wanted to.
