What food can I feed my dog to make him gain weight?

High protein grain free food to add muscle to make him look and feel healthy.I feed this to my Chi puppy and Boston Terrier.

Some chihuahuas are naturally skinnier than others. It's simply in their hereditary and metabolism (like ppl). If the vet has said he's healthy, what difference does it make. That idea is what you want him to look like...while he's at a perfectly fine weight or the vet would've said otherwise.

Even a small weight gain could be detrimental for the health of the dog. He would be carrying extra weight on a small body frame and that would be taxing on his heart & respiratory system.

Your cousin's chihuahua is a separate animal altogether. Their weights have nothing to do with each other. There are also different breeds within the chihuahua classification. They are different sizes among other things. Be happy that your dog is active & healthy. No need to create a problem when things are fine....just continue to feed him his regular dog food on a consistent basis.

You can do what my parents did to my Chihuahua when I moved out and left him with them -- feed table scraps.

He went from 4lbs to 9lbs in no time. It pisses me off, to be honest. I spent a lot of money on that damn thing and he was from a good bloodline.. now hes a fatass that sleeps all day.

hey yes bones are really fattening dont listen to him 2 bones a day for a chihuahua they are samll dogs 1 a day go to your local butcher and ask for dog bones for a small dog they will cut them up small for you i do it for my dog all the time cheers but if your vet says she is fine i wouldnt bother but totally up to you are you sure your cousins isnt over weight .......

bones are really fattening maybe 2 every day but i wuldn make him fat its reall hard to lose that weight for ure dog
