System compromise of this magnitude normally require a formatted re-install of the operating system.
Once you've been compromised this bad, it's the only way to get total security back.
Backing up files may not be a great idea: virus components could get backed up & infect the labor intensive re-install, rendering it useless.
While your at it, take a long look at your personal interaction with the computer...Securing Windows operating systems from Internet threats is not a single application, or even a suite.
It's layers of protection, user habits, threat landscape awareness, system configuration, real time protection, and more.
Although 'all-in-one' suites may be OK, (CareOne, McAfee, or Norton) plenty of freeware is available that will do the same job (maybe better???) & don't deplete your system resources (and therefore speed).
Generally speaking: as a system's convenience, interactiveness & flexibility increase: security decreases.
Look through some of the suggested freeware here, study up, and pick some of the frontline defenses. Create a restore point after each install, then run the system to verify that application's 'friendliness' with your system before adding other applications.
Sorry, but using Windows requires you to become a security expert, it's that simple. Something they don't tell you when you buy this system...

I had the same problem! What you have is called the Trojan-Fake Alert. It's a harmless but annoying virus. Download the Norton Security Scan. I clicked heal and it destroyed to virus. The Norton Security Scan is free I think.

Sounds like you have a malware (virus) on your system which is antivirus 2009. (and other names)
Antivirus 2009 and 2008 is not an antivirus program, it is malware (a scam program designed to get you to pay money to have it removed). Do not pay anything!
To get rid of it:
You need a free program called Malwarebytes. Download it here: http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/...
Install and run Malwarebytes and then your be fine.
Here are full instructions if you get stuck getting rid of it: (But Malware bytes will do it for you.

the best thing you can do is to reinstall your windows. it takes about one hour and after that you wont have viruses whatsoever.
or you can install ad-aware (freeware) which will hopefully delete all your infections.
good luck.
