AMD Phenom 9750 Good?
I am building a comp that will run games and AutoCAD 2009. I knwo the AMD 9750will run CAD with no problem but i need to know if its a good processor to run games with.
I knwo this thing is a power hog.
SO far my comp has:
ASUS M3N-HT motherboard
GTX 260 core GeForce card
2 memory sticks at 1066
2 wd 500 HDD
22x cd/dvd/+-rw
Thermaltake 750w PS 80+
With this build a good comp for gaming and CAD????
Does anyone even know of a MOBO that can suport the new Phenom II that is supose to come out.
Hell ya i know it is better that all the other but i cant find a bard that says it will suport it.
If AMD is smart they wont do what Intel did with there new i7 and make it have a board all its own.

The cpu is ok for now but in my opinion if you havent bought the motherboard and you plan on going AMD, make sure the motherboard is the newest chipset (south bridge) the AMD 790gx motherboards are the ones that you should try to aim for. that way when the new phenom II comes out (which they will kick every processor amd has released so far in the *** and then some) you should be able to upgrade the cpu to the phenom II.

The 9750 is a great processor, if heat isn't a big deal for you. I mean these puppies RUN HOTTTT!!! That setup will do just fine, and that graphics card you got there is a beast.
Heres the deal with Phenom II: Come January/February, The first P2s will roll off the production line. they will come in either an AM2+ or AM3 slot. The AM2+ processors should work just fine in your rig that you mention here. You may need a small BIOS update though. There really is no Discernible performance difference between the AM2+ or AM3 processors. They are exactly the same clock speed and everything, they just have a different interface:
BUT.... I am an Intel fanboy, so what do I care? lol

YEs i think that is a great set up for any gaming though i would recommend that you get an ati 4970 x2 instead of the geforce 260 because the 4870 x2 is faster and all together better than the higher end model which is the gtx 280 the 4870 x2 starts at 299 and up

yes man you can run games with it
