i had my wisdom tooth pulled yesterday it hurts like hell now what color should my gum the hole in my mouth be its like a white yellow is this normal

your remaining socket could be a variety of different colors.... your best bet is to clean it out with irrigation like your dentist told you,,,, take your pain meds.... and alternate hold/cold packs to help with the color

Yes that is normal. Take the pain medication prescribed and relax. Be sure to keep any food particles from sitting in the empty socket. Rinse gently after every meal. You may also do warm salt water rinses 3 times a day after the first 24 hours. This will help keep any bacteria from collecting and prevent dry socket. If pain does not get better in 2-3 days then contact your dentist or oral surgeon.

24 hours is too early to assess the progress of healing. Normally it can take 4-7 days before pain significantly decreases. Ice packs can reduce inflammation and may help alleviate pain. Take pain medication as prescribed. If you were not prescribed a pain medication, call your dentist and get one. If the pain medication you are taking is not working, call your dentist and get a different one.

I think it should be dark red from blood clots. It could possibly be an infection.
