Is it safe for a baby to sleep on his back on a bed?

Sometimes my cousin let's her 3 month old lie in bed with her. The thought of that kinda scares me. Is this safe or am I just overreacting?

As long as she isn't obese and doesn't use heavy bedding and the baby is away from pillows, she's okay. Just to be safe, she should use an infant co-sleeper bed.

A lot of new moms do it, because they are scared they won't wake up if the baby is away from them and crying.. its more of a comfort for them. Most sleep with their babies from birth all the way up until 10-12 months.

    It's perfectly fine.

It allows both parent and baby to be closer.

its ok, not ideal, but not gonna hurt him physically unless she's very obese then she could smother him
