Why does everyone blame EVERYTHING on Bush?

I have never voted for nor supported Bush. I think he's a moron. But there are a lot more morons that caused this right along with bush and everyone seems to think he was the only one that made all of the mistakes. Huh?

The blame Bush game comes from two things:

First, people really think the president can and should do everything for them. When a president does not do everything, they are a failure. Now I do not know how anything can be a more perverse understanding of the Constitution. The presidency is an inherently weak office when it comes to domestic affairs. The president has broad foreign policy powers though.

Second, Bush has the distinction of being the president when the world truly changed and people are having a hard time accepting it. We live in a globalized interconnected world where governments have little say any longer and the standards to be successful are shifting heavily towards those with education. Government has been warning people for decades to get educated in fear of the modern world where education matters. This transition, which started a long time ago, really entered full gear within the last decade.

Bush is far from a great president, but the blaming him for everything is a tad over the top. The presidency is inherently weak as the founders intended and the world is changing in ways beyond the control of any government.

Because it's the popular opinion -- "group thinking", if you will. People don't really think about the issues, they just skim the surface of the news, take on the popular opinion of others and run with it.

For instance, people aren't giving credit to Bush for the fact that he undertook a whole different kind of war when 9-11 happened. There was no protocol, or blueprint on how to keep Americans safe against terrorism, and we were having to figure out how to deal with terrorism and countries that supported terrorism as we went along.

People forget that the real reason that we went into Iraq is because Saddam Hussein refused to let the UN inspectors do their duty, as bound by the UN, and verify that there were no weapons of mass destruction. Had Hussein simply let the UN instructors in, as per the agreement with the UN, then the instructors could have verified that there were not any weapons of mass destruction. But instead, Hussein refused, and that gave us Americans reason to be worried. Can you imagine if Hussein had actually been making nuclear weapons?

I mean, yes, this war is a mess. I'm not saying it was the right thing to go in. I'm saying that I think Bush did the best he could with the info that he had in front of him. That info was that we suspected that Iraq was producing nuclear weapons, we were reasonably sure that those nuclear weapons would be used to kill many, many Americans, that there was an order by the UN for Hussein to periodically allow UN inspectors in to make sure that he was not producing nuclear weapons, and that Hussein refused to let those inspectors come in and do their jobs.

What was Bush supposed to do? Bury his head in the sand and say, "Oh well, maybe he really isn't producing nuclear weapons? After all, he claims that he's not."?

It's very popular to hate Bush. It makes us all feel with-it.

I'm interested though, in seeing how history portrays him decades from now -- that is, once he's portrayed from a more objective point of view.

    Intellectual laziness.

Having said that, I need to point out that the people who blame Bush for everything also make rude comments about Bush's intellect.

In the field of Psychology, this is call "projective identification". Those who suffer from it will accuse others of having faults which they themselves have, but can't bear to admit to. It's a defense mechanism and a sure sign of a weak character.

I don't blame everything on Bush. He didn't cause the weeds in my flower garden. He did, however, contribute to a lot of misery, but I also blame his cronies, especially Cheney, and I blame the blind supporters of his decisions. The people who voted him in and supported his policies are just as bad, and Fox news deserves some credit for their misinformation as well.

Because he's a Republican! They had total control top to bottom for 8 of the last 10 years, the Presidency and Congress, and the majority in the Supreme Court--they have killed our economy, used the Constitution and the Bill of Rights for toilet paper, killed thousands of people, and STILL think they are right in their thinking! They have destroyed America's once good name in the eyes of the world, and trashed our manufacturing base, by sending it overseas, and providing tax breaks to the companys that move out! They cruise the public men's rooms,(Larry Craig) run around on their wives, take graft dollars (Ted Stevenson) chase Congessional pages (Mark Foley) and then they want to tell US how to be moral!!!!! Amazing...

most of its clinton's fault, we were attacked numerous times by al queda and the talaban during his administration and he did nothing. also he allowed obama to sue fannie mae and freddie mac when they werent giving out enough sub prime loans which caused the housing crisis. the economy wouldnt be nearly as bad if he wasnt such an idiot. its also bush's fault for our deflating dollar because of all the bailouts that we dont have money for. also it comes from people who think the president has absolute power over everything. they dont and they barely have any power. the people who they select for office have more of an influence. a president's presidencey is often classified by events in which they have no control over ex) 9-11 for george bush and the civil war for president lincoln. also people think the president and government should do everything for them. basically its only stupid people that hate him or people who hate him just because otheres hate him

Because 95 % of what he did was his fault--and everything that happened to the rest of us because of his trying to apply fake heavenly nonsense to real human beings' lives happened because he didn't care that he lacked all science; and that he was just seeking more executive power and making up public policy so he could get more and more power--even though everything he was doing was 95% a failure.

    Thanks for asking.

Because it is a lot easier for liberals to gang up on Bush instead of looking in the mirror and seeing the real problem.

He was the President, a terrible one but he didn't have to go along with all the other morons. He could of took a different path but he was a moron too.
