Addition - the process of uniting two or more numbers into one sum, represented by the symbol +.
Subtraction - the operation or process of finding the difference between two numbers or quantities, denoted by a minus sign (−).
Multiplication - any generalization of this operation applicable to numbers other than integers, as fractions or irrational numbers.
Division - the operation inverse to multiplication; the finding of a quantity, the quotient, that when multiplied by a given quantity, the divisor, gives another given quantity, the dividend; the process of ascertaining how many times one number or quantity is contained in another.

ADDITION=The process of summing up numbers to get a total
SUBTRACTION=To take away one number from another to find the difference
MULTIPLICATION=Adding a number to itself a certain number of times

The quote below from what you've written gives a clear and concise answer. It's the part you should focus on. "If a/0 = c, then a = 0*c. But 0*c = 0. Hence, if a is not equal to 0, no value of c can make the statment a = 0*c true, while if a = 0, every value of c will make the statement true."

I think the definitions are all different depending on the kind of numbers that are operated on (natural numbers, integers, rational numbers, real numbers, complex numbers) but I don't remember any of those obscure definitions. I find that the every day ones work just fine for me.

go to wikipedia and type in ...field ( mathematics)....to see the correct definitions of addition and multiplication...a group of axioms and objects...and note that " subtraction and division " are really additions and multiplications by " inverses"

What are the definitions we all know?
This is so I would not repeat it when I answer you.
