RI problems in dumeril?

I just bought a dumeril boa. I brought him home today and listen to him breath. I heard wheezing and popping. I'm thinking he has RI. The reason i bought him was because the way he was keep so I thought there might me something wrong. Is there anything I could do? There only 1 reptile vet in 7 county around me and he doesn't know much about snake. He has personally said that himself. So if anyone has any advice i would really love to hear it. Also I don't want to have to give the snake back so it dies. Any help would be great.

Until your snake can be properly treated, raise the temperature in the enclosure to optimum levels day and night to allow for "behavioral fever" and replace the substrate with dry newspaper. Provide clean drinking water at all times. Place your snake's hide near the heat source. Check other sources for information on herp vets such as local zoos, reptile farms and serpentariums. Always inquire on and inspect a snake's health before you purchase it
