Blackberry Pearl. Calls show up in "messages" box. how do i change that?

I just got a blackberry pearl. When i have a missed call they appear in my message box. the phone tells me i have missed call messages all the time. I dont want to have to go into my message box all the time because i have missed calls. i only want these calls to show up in my call log. how do i turn this off or change it?

    Go to Call Logs

    Select the BB Menu Key (the dotted key to the left of the trackball)

    Options

    Call Logging

    Change the selection to NONE.
