I run a small business and last week the financial folks were doing some year end work. We use peachtree accounting software. When the year end process is run a message pops up that says the process will take several hours. Start the process; sure enough it takes forever.

About 15 years ago i had a brand new pentium 133Mhz computer.. at the time it was the fastest thing around. Back then it took maybe 60 seconds to boot and generally software to accomplish the same types of tasks took about the same amount of time it does now.

Today i have an office full of computers that have Quad processors 2Ghz, huge hard drives and all sorts of fancy features. Why does doing the exact same type of computing today take the same or more time that it did 15 years ago?? The expected responce would be that computers do so much more than they did 15 years ago... It still takes 60 secods or more to boot.. and even longer to do year end books... its nothing but a simple database. What gives?

I just got a blackberry pearl. When i have a missed call they appear in my message box. the phone tells me i have missed call messages all the time. I dont want to have to go into my message box all the time because i have missed calls. i only want these calls to show up in my call log. how do i turn this off or change it?
