Contacting Army husband who's in the Hospital..?

My husband and I just had a baby December 7th and he has yet to see our son because of Army boot camp.

He is having a really hard time with depression over this and apparently they have checked him into some hospital at fort knox.

The psychiatrist informed his mother of this because she is the only one able to provide his family history. He is not allowed to make phone calls. I was in Michigan so I am just hearing of all of this now..

I called the Hospital at Ft. Knox and they told me all psychiatric patients are transferred to another facility.

Both his Sergeant and his Commander are away on Christmas Exodus leave and I cannot reach anyone in the 5-15 Cav regiment.

Can someone tell me who I should call to find out where my husband is and his status?

Here is a list of phone numbers at fort knox, I just don't know where to start..

Update:

Excuse my french but my mother in law is very dumb and a big time ***** to me, so no.. she wouldn't tell me where he is even if she knew.

If he's at Ft Knox then more than likely they sent him to Lincoln Trails Hospital. That is the local behavior health facility. IACH is not set up to handle care for that situation and so they would have sent him to an off post hospital and that is the nearest one. You can try calling them but they may not be able to give you any info on his status right away. More than likely they will have to ask him first and then give you info if he okays it.

Red Cross DSN 464-2163 Commercial (502) 624-2163, the red cross can find anyone, so tell them you have no idea WTF is going on, if they will not send a message to him about the birth of his child, then call the chaplin and then family services. Legal services (which is JAG) might be able to help you, I would call the information at Knox to find out the hosbital mental ward, most psych soldiers are held in the mental ward in the hosbital, you could ask to speak to the psych ward int he hosbital and see if they can at least give you a yea or nay as to whether your hubbby is there.

Did you try contacting the Red Cross for help? They should be able to find out where he is for you since you've got the runaround. Doesn't your mother-in-law know?
