I accidentally hit my 5 month old sons head with a hard ball?

He was laying on the floor on a blanket and I was trying to roll the ball over to him. Its a pretty big ball, about as big as a hand. Without thinking I gave the ball a good nudge because it was stuck on the blanket and it hit him pretty hard on above his left eye. He never really cried. It left a red circle and was swollen for a couple minutes but then I put a cold washcloth on it and it went away.

Do you think this could of caused brain damage?

The only way to know for sure if he has issues would be to take him to the doctor.

He will more than likely be ok.

My brother accidentally dropped a phone on my nephew's head when he was 4 months old lol...he is ok.

My cousin fell asleep holding her 8 week old son, she woke up to find him SITTING on the floor between the sofa and the footstool she had her feet on, she was scared she had hurt him but he never once cried and the doc said he was ok too.

I don't think you have done any lasting damage to your baby, a hug and a kiss will be enough for him

It probably didn't, but just in case, wake him up every few hours to check up on him (just a slight nudge will do, it's only to see if he's responding)

If he's still acting normal (eats normally and plays like always) nothing should be wrong.

    Hope I helped

Don't worry, your child is fine. It's common for a first-time parent to freak out over little things like this but your child is surprisingly resilient, and he can take a beating (so to speak).

He will be fine. My 10 month old little boy gets roughed up by his sibling's allot! If you are at all concerned call your Doctor.

he's probably fine, but just call your pediatrician and ask what signs to watch for that would require getting him seen. when my kids have gotten bumps on the head we've generally been told to watch for disorientation, nausea, dilated pupils, lethargy, or other unusual behavior. the pediatrician might also tell you to wake him up mid-sleep for the next day or two to make sure that he can be roused.
