We were asked to join AMWAY, is it worth it? Has anyone had experience with being an IBO?
I was trying to figure this out from the other guys question but he made it into something else.
I checked BBB and they are rated with an A+ but I found articles on it being a pyramid company, that was my first thought.
Can someone that has tried it and succeeded or failed please let me know your experiences with being an IBO?

Hi Glorianne -
Amway is a good, solid company that has been around forever.
Is it worth it? Only you can answer that for yourself.
I was in Amway for maybe six months, a few years ago now. It wasn't for me, but it may be for you.
To speak frankly, the base problem with Amway is the "$40 for a bar of soap" dilemma that so many network marketing or multilevel marketing programs suffer from:
The products are over priced to support the pay plan.
There are a few opportunities out there where the products are priced fairly, and the pay plan is fantastic, but I fear those are few and far between.
Also, when considering a NM or MLM company, there is a critical window where you want to join to get the greatest results. You don't want to be the first one in because then you may be stuck in a losing company. You also don't want to be in a company that has been around forever and everyone and his brother is in it, was in it, or doesn't want to be in it....
A company that has been around for a few years, at a good price point, with a good pay plan, will probably serve you better.
But again, only you can decide this for yourself.
Have fun, and good luck!

my partner and i tried amway but we found that it was all about the 'opportunity' and not the products. we wanted to do retail but got very little support and the product was so expensive we couldnt sell it. also, we were constantly under pressure to attend seminars etc as well as buying books and cd's, all of which cost a lot of money. i really wouldnt recommend it. we now do a different business which is proving much more successful, didnt cost anything to set up and doesnt cost anything to run, but which will still give us a residual income. check out www.havewhatyouwant.webs.com
