So, I got an iPod touch for Christmas..?

Okay, so for Christmas I got an iPod touch.

When I turned it on, it was working fine, so I synced it to my computer via USB, and after syncing a few songs, it told me it 'couldn't read the drive' and couldn't copy to it.

So I unplugged it, and plugged it back in.

This kept on happening, so I decided to unplug it and replug it everytime this occured, and eventually I had all my songs on there.

I was then prompted to update to iPod Software 2.2.

Oh joy.

I updated, and my iPod touch got to the screen where it has the Apple logo and a status bar, when iTunes tells me it has to restore the iPod back to factory settings.

That's wonderful.

So, I attempt to do that, and it stops due to an 'unknown error' [Errors 7, 8, 14].

My sister manages to get it working by using my sister's computer, and the next day it's wonderful.

I go back to my computer to charge it, and it works. I get a few videos on there, and it complys. The 'cannot read the drive' thing popped up again a few times, but I got through it, even got a couple apps on it.

Then.. it says that iTunes can't read the contents of the iPod, and I have to reset it to factory settings.

We've been working on this (total) for about 2 days.

I've already taken back the iPod touch for a full refund, thinking it was just that model, but after reading a couple of forums, some people had the same troubles as me.

Should I get another iPod touch and see how things work out with that, or what?

Its definitely a fault of your computer . What you should do is get help of someone to clean it up by formatting it completely. And it's normal in any PC. You need to do disc defragment and formatting.

sounds like you're using a PC so those tend to not get a;ong with iPods as well as Macs do and while I'm not trying to sell you a Mac I'm just saying it's probably your computer and you need a new one

To be honest, i think of you ought to easily get the cloths and stuff. have confidence me, I even have made this mistake previously. the individuals who invented the ipod are going to invent something much extra cooler and extra usefull. So by the time you have spent all you funds and made extra, something new nicely come out. And in case you rather do like what got here out then purchase it. yet until then... a woman can in no way have sufficient cloths!
